Hey dawgs and dawgettes.
So me and Gill spent this entire weekend watching all of 24 series 3 (since they moved it to sky and we couldn't watch it anymore) on DVD. It was sheer bliss, I have to say, and I would happily do it every weekend if I could. I'd heard a lot of shit-talk about how bad this series was and how it was all going downhill. The people who said this, I need hardly say, were wrong, and this series can proudly stand toe to toe with the best of the first series (the second was a bit crap, truth be told) on all fronts including story, cliffhangers, preposterous twists and graphic torture. Next series I'll be heartily disappointed if Jack doesn't kneecap a blood relative and skullfuck them to death before noon, such is his psychological trajectory.
In response to big gay gareths' yammerings, I haven't seen standalone complex, but I have ordered it on ebay on the strength of his recommendation, so if it bites he'll be getting further public humiliation on this very forum. Of course Thundercats is shit. To this day you don't have any taste, why do you think that as a youngster you would? The quality lies in the mythology and the character archetypes (though not the script)- there are the bones of an incredible story there, which is why I wrote a remake- if it was as good as I used to think it was, I wouldn't have bothered with reimagining it. I'll not have you dissing Cowboy Bebop- I notice you never actually said if you'd seen it or not, so if you're pulling that shit where you read up on something on the net then convince yourself you've seen it and base your opinions thereon, think again. And what the fuck is an IMO?
Work continues unabated, though I'm more confortable here now that I know how things are done.
Better get back to it though...

Comments:
In My Opinion.
And I have seen a couple of them. CNX, which is a cartoon channel for 'adults' (Samurai Jack and low budget kung fu action films were notable others) used to show them late at night in their anime series slot. They are defunct now, morphed into a channel that shows Dragonball Z and Muscle Men something 24/7.
AND TEEN TITANS! OMG WHAT A SHITE PREMISE. You know how in the US they have a bazillion superhero groups containing at least everyone at one time or another? Like the Justice League with Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman etc (if not see www.seanbaby.com) Well take Robin, I say again, ROBIN (who is their leader I think), the crappy disappearing one from Xmen, and a black kid who can shoot electricity....AND MAKE THEM KIDS! And lets not stop there, LETS POKEMONIFY IT! Yes, its the muppet babies version of the superhero cartoon with a 'teamwork is the key' lesson at the end, but with the crappy heros instead of the ones we all like!

Never watched 24. You should watch Monkey Dust now on BBC2 on Monday nights. Dead good.

Got Half Life 2 for the PC and GTA:San Andreas for the PS2. Brilliant and brilliant. HL is waaaay better than Doom3 with better graphics and a physics engine (pick things up and throw them about realistically) thats unbelievable. GTA is like every gangbanger hiphop gangsta movie ever made rolled into one and converted into a game. You can do drive bys on a BMX. A BMX! Then pop a wheelie.

gareth, there is no fucking way that Half-Life 2 (as much as I love it) has better graphics than doom 3. Come on now, be serious. And how is a 'realistic' physics engine that is 'unbelievable' a good thing?

Notice the word, engine.
It has a better graphics engine in that it can render much much more than Doom3 (cramped corridors against cramped corridors AND open terrains - no contest) running at acceptable fps levels instead of the sub 20fps Doom3 can get on even low detail. The character models are WAAAAAAAAAAY better than Doom3's conehead-esqe ones.
And the physics engine in HL2 is a hell of a lot better than D3. Ever load the physics test map in D3 and toss the stack of boxes noticing the massive frame loss? IN A ROOM OF 4 WALLS AND JUST 2 TEXTURES? Even in game you never come across more than two or three items that are in one place (room) that can be tossed about or affected by grenades. Shit, half the objects cant be fucked about with, the number of laptops that seem superglued to the tables they are on.
Now take HL2. Multiple objects, which spawn further multiple objects when broken (unlike D3) that can be tossed about, with little or no slowdown. Im not saying theres no slowdown, in fact a CS:S level has a place FULL of debris where if you throw a grenade stalls the game for a second or two due to the physic calcs, but its the best damn physics engine to date.
HL2 owned D3 so much that for the D3 expansion pack they are copying the gravity gun.
