How are you all doin?
Summer seems to be upon us again and I’m getting used to waking up with the sun in my face and looking at the unnerving sight of british people in sunglasses smiling and shit.
Got a kickass new watch yesterday from Grainne and Joe from when they were in aussieland that I can’t stop looking at admiringly. Andrea has finished her masters, Chris is facing her last few exams and Brenda, bless her, is sweating her way towards her final exhibition at the end of this month. Brenda, if you are reading this, I wish I could make it over to give you a hand, but I’m sure you’ll do a grand job anyways. Keep it up.

Watched ‘Office Space’ at the weekend. Maybe I was late to the party or something, but while I thought it was good- it was pretty far from great. Ron Livingstone is cool and should get more work, Jennifer Canisten should bugger off; she brought nothing to the party except a recognisable face and was clearly just there to attract ‘friends’ fans who would otherwise never have heard of this film. Vapid whore. Oh yeah, and that guy in it ‘Milton’, who I believe was the character from the original comic strip on which the film was based, he was shit and annoying and had about six scenes in the film where he did EXACTLY THE SAME THING. Not good. The only redeeming feature of these scenes was that he shared them with Gary Cole. I could happily watch Gary Cole picking bits of sand from his bodily crevices, and he was probably the best thing in this show. (Oh yeah, Mike McShanes Cameo was great).

Our mate from uni, Steveo, has taken his show on the road, I believe he’s in San Fran at the minute, so if you is reading this, ‘High there’.

I’ve found a new hobby to do at work when there is a lull on the counter; checking out other peoples fancy dress/Halloween/cosplay outfits. Some of them are amazing. The Americans a good at it, but even they lose out to the sheer commitment of the Japanese; they go nuts for it; it’s just a shame they are all dressed up as obscure videogame/anime/manga characters. But the outfits are just incredible. There’s this lass who dresses up as Dante from Devil May Cry and she looks magnificent; even bleached her own hair white. That’s commitment.

Anyway- I’d better get back on the clock. Laterz.Aido ‘Better to have a gun and not need it than need a gun and not have it’ potato.

Greetings one and all (in the unlikely event of more than one person reading this).

So Blair got in again. I (as you may or may not know) was working as a poll clerk on the day, so turned what could’ve been a wholly unprofitable day off into a nice little earner. Actually it was more of an uninspiring, long slow earner, but you get the idea. The BNP got more votes in the constituency I was working in than any other in the country, apparently, which makes one reappraise one’s neighbours, to say the least.

Onto lighter news now, myself and Jonno finally put Viewtiful Joe to sleep one evening when Gillo and Marybeth were out getting sloshed, which I found intensely satisfying, and I’ve played through a little bit of it again as Dante from Devil May Cry. I’m now torn as to what my next purchase should be, because both Viewtiful Joe 2 and Devil May Cry 3 have been released and I couldn’t justify buying them both. (Not right away anyways).
Watched ‘Bad Education’ by Almodovar this weekend, which is probably the gayest film I’ve ever seen, but very very good nonetheless. Went to see Hitch-hikers guide to the galaxy last week, which was a marvellous adap, even if much of the humour has aged considerably. We’ve also enjoyed another CSI binge, courtesy of Gillo’s mum who tapes them for us since we don’t have channel 5. God I love that show. I could happily live the rest of my life without seeing any other police procedural. I love how it’s so dumbed down a newborn American idiot baby could successfully follow the plot, but it’s so razzle dazzle you don’t even care. I wouldn’t use the spin-offs to wipe my arse on though.

Until next time.Aido ‘Kiss goodbye to those bum-plums, chums’ potato.
