G'day bruce.
So now I'm 24. Went out to the local to get pissed up on booze on sat nite, which was accomplished with aplomb, spent most of sunday saying 'urghhhhh!', retching into a bucket, rubbing me head and intermittantly opening prezzies. Got some good shit. 'Ramones Raw DVD' Shaun of the Dead, a sexy lady shirt and a wife beater with a picture of the virgin mary on it, and a huge marvel poster. Also got the two 'Modern Toss' books that are in print, anyone familiar with the 'Homeclubber' cartoons in the guardian guide will kno what I'm on about, everyone eles can check it out at www.moderntoss.com, is very funny indeed.
I've been a busy bugger this last while, I'm trying to tie up loose ends at Hillsbro before sallying forth to broomhill library, that's if i even go there. There's a tempting vacancy at the university for an AV assistant, with a remarkably tempting pay packet. I've also been bombarding the Belfast telegraph with my mental dribblings in the hope of snagging some bonus journo work, but frankly I'm not holding my breath.
I may start just filling this site with reviews and use that as my calling card, then again I might not, as if I tell everyone what I think of everything I watch here, I'll have nothing to talk about when I see them face to face.
Having said that, I saw Hero last week, which is very impressive, if a little emotionally hollow. The set design and action sequences are terrific though. It's a very simplistic story, which makes it a little strange that it drew so many comparisons with Crouching Tiger, it's really nothing like it at all.
That'll be all for now methinks, check out hulks blog its very funny indeed, can't remember the exact address, but if you type hulk diary into any good search engine you should find it without too much trouble.
Adios.

Hey dawgies.
Back again from norn iron and I'm totally bushwhacked. Enda's officially a 'big boy' now, and has the mountain of aftershave to prove it. We had a great time but literally didn't stop all weekend. Usually when I come back I don't go to sleep until night, but after calfing on the couch yesterday I had to take a nap. God bless pete (gills dad) for coming to lift us at the airport as we would have had to wait in NEM airport for a further two hours for a coach (as we had planned to do) if he (or perhaps, Linda) hadn't offered to come and lift us. Oh, and Edel too for delivering us to Belfast International at 6 in the bastard morning.
Sinead and Mark had hired a Bouncy castle for Enda on saturady, which we duly inflated and enjoyed about half an hours worth of bouncing fun before the rain came along and spoiled it. I came back later and castle, generater and extention cable had all been blown halfway up the lawn and was making a concerted bid for freedom. I let it down until the rain stopped, but when I went to re-inflate later it resembled a cold jaccuzzi more than a bouncy castle, so I put it away. Ho Hum.
Edel came back on sat nite and we went out for a meal, which was really nice, and the party was on sunday. It felt a bit weird to get pissed up at a kids party, but fun was had by all, except mark and john who, like the fools they are, volunteered to dress up as clowns and were treated to the mockery, physical abuse and emotional scarring that all clowns have coming to them at the hands of the aforementioned kids. ('volunteered' is perhaps too strong a word. More accurate to say 'didn't laugh out loud in grainne's face at the proposal', serves them right)
Yesterday was spent being inactive, watching TV, sleeping (edel got us a couple of those little eyemasks you get on long haul flights which are just the ticket for sleeping during the day) and ordering curries.
Watched that 'Arrested development', new sitcom on bbc2. Shows a lot of promise, and made me feel a bit better about missing the last 3 Malcolm in the middles.
Better go now, left the running of the library in the hands of 2 standby staff, one of whom hasn't been here before.
Later all
